As part of the project, staff working in public institutions and the industrial sector are provided with educational and training seminars on monitoring and reporting on GHG emissions. Specific guidelines are being developed for the operators of industrial plants. This approach ensures that any reservations the industrial sector may have concerning the introduction of an MRV system are taken into account from the beginning.

In addition, the project gives departmental staff within the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change of the Republic of Türkiye the skills needed to manage and further develop the entire MRV system for Türkiye.

To support this work, the Ministry receives advice on all MRV-related topics and any associated issues, for instance emissions trading. Also information is provided to the private sector regarding development of monitoring plans and annual emission reports based on MRV regulation.
